Our approach is thrust on the belief that the citizen, voice, actions, responsibility, and recognition of illiterate women and girls, youths, persons with disability and deprived children MUST be heard, respected, protected, promoted and acted upon accordingly.
Our Approach
Network AID uses a pro-poor people center and responsibility-based approach to facilitate intervention amongst key interest groups for the voices of our constituents to be heard and acted upon; we drive evidence-based advocacy to influence policies that limit and discriminate against our constituents from decision-making processes, to recognition and to service delivery.
Our Programme
Livelihood & Education
Livelihood & Education Programme: - The livelihood and education program deals with the issuance of
- Pro-poor interest microfinance to illiterate persons aiming at wealth creation, and enhancing their dignity in society.
- Skill development on adult literacy and numeracy classes; entrepreneurship and ICT training;
- Scholarship for deprived children; internship for young girls in tertiary institutions (pre-professional skills)
Promoting Access to Adult Education
In enhancing world peace; securing the livelihood of illiterate women/girls, persons with disability and youths is critical as they constitute the majority in the informal or non-formal sector; their contributions are significant yet bear no recognition.
Health & Safety
Health & Safety Programme: - The health and safety program focuses on HIV/AIDS; Mental Health, Cancer; WASH; Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender Base Violence, Harmful Traditional Practices/ Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, Crashes and Accident, Emergencies and Disasters
Need for Pure & Safe Drinking-Water Supply, Sanitation & Good Hygiene Behaviors.
In achieving global peace; addressing the issues of wellness, and safety, especially for the uneducated, adolescent girls and the informal sector is by extension achieving a significant portion of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
Governance & Participation
Governance & Participation Programme: - The governance program provide a platform for illiterate women, persons with disability, and young people and deprives children of choice and voices to be heard on issues that affect their well-being and welfare in society. Not limited to policy, decision-making legislation and developmental actions.
Illiterate Women's Participation Count
Illiterate women account for a higher per cent of the population yet their participation in governance is largely limited to voting. Their voice, visibility, recognition, participation, and representation remain very low compared to illiterate men. Some of the challenges include a lack of economic independence, social and gender norms, and barriers to accessing public officials and public service delivery buildings.
Lessen the acts of corruption, wastage, conflict, electoral malpractices, void vote, female genital mutilation, environmental degradation, hate speech and incitement - the active engagement of illiterate women/girls, persons with disability, and youth is integral.
Our Conviction
It’s Network AID's deepest conviction that Livelihood and Education, Health and Safety, Governance and Participation are the engines and central pillars in solidifying; and contributing to achieving community, national, sub-regional ( EAC, ECCAS, ECOWAS, SADC, and MENA), regional, and international agendas.
Our Theory Of Change
Citizen, Voice, Action, Responsibility & Recognition (CVARR)
At Network AID, we apply our proven methodology of Citizen, Voice, Action, Responsibility & Recognition (CVARR) which is a responsibility-based approach that advances and enhances dialogue and a sense of responsibility between rights holders and duty bearers to improve quality service delivery like livelihood, access to pro-poor microfinance, healthcare, safety, education, and governance participation which impact the daily lives and survival of youths, persons with disability, women, children illiterate person's and families.
The goal of Citizen Voice Action Responsibility and Recognition is to ensure availability, accessibility, affordability, and quality of service delivery through consultative, collaborative, non-confrontational dialogue between service users ( the people), service enabler (the government), and service providers ( government or a private entity or a person).
Service Users take responsibility to monitor and seek accountability for service delivery through individual collective action for the sustainability and utilisation of the services. Government take the responsibility to provide the enabling environment through policies, legal framework, budgetary allocations and enforcement for implementation and monitoring. Service Providers take the responsibility for seamless services provided to all.
CVARR is based on the belief that each citizen (right holders) and the government ( duty bearer) are at the center and have the responsibility to hold each other accountable for not fulfilling each other responsibility.
(Users + Government + Providers = Accountable Responsibility)
